Progressive Field: an accessible guide to every section
In order to assist in finding tickets for Guardians games, the following is an overview of the stadium, sections, and details about the location of each section in the stadium.
A seat map answers one question at a glance: where would I actually be sitting? This page answers the same question in words — for all 178 sections at Progressive Field. What the section number means, where it sits relative to home plate, how deep it is, where the entrance is, and which end of the row seat 1 is on.
How the ballpark is laid out
Progressive Field opened in 1994 and seats about 34,800 after a recent renovation, making it one of the smaller parks in the majors. Tiers run the Field Level 100s, the Mezzanine and Press Level 300s, and the Upper Level 400s and 500s.
Section numbers increase from right field, up the first-base side, past home plate, down the third-base side and out to left field. Low numbers are the first-base and right-field side; high numbers are the third-base and left-field side.
The sections directly behind home plate are:
- Field Level (100s): sections 152–155.
- Upper Level (400s): sections 452–452.
- Upper Level (500s): sections 553–553.
How the tiers stack
The home-plate block sits at 152–155 on the Field Level, around 452 on the Upper 400s and around 553 on the 500s. The 300-series Press Level runs mostly along the first-base side and never wraps behind the plate, so no home-plate anchor exists for that tier and distances there are left blank rather than guessed.
Landmarks
- Guardians (home) dugout: third-base side, fronted by sections 160–164. Section 162 notes row F is the first row behind it.
- Visiting dugout: first-base side, fronted by sections 140–146.
- Wheelchair seating behind row EE is stated for the home-plate sections 152–155.
- Bleachers are sections 180–185.
- Section 434 has a stated obstruction — a safety bar blocks the view of the mound and batter's box from rows A and B.
How seat numbers work at this park
Every section page for this ballpark states the same rule: facing the field, seat 1 is on your right. Combined with the direction the section numbers run, that resolves to one rule for the whole park:
Seat 1 sits on the edge of the section facing the next LOWER section number, and seat numbers count up toward the next HIGHER section number.

So a single rule of thumb will not cover the whole park. Each section entry below spells out which end of its row seat 1 is on.
Rows
Rows are letters here. Field Level sections run A to Z and then continue AA to HH, and infield sections often start mid-alphabet rather than at A because the rows in front belong to a different block. The 400 level runs A to F, the club A to T and the 500 level A to X.
Accessibility landmarks
Accessible and companion seating is spread across the tiers. The clearest published anchor is the wheelchair seating behind row EE in the home-plate sections.

Sources, confidence and caveats
Rows, entrance rows, zones and seat-numbering direction come from RateYourSeats section pages, one page fetched per section, with A View From My Seat as a fallback. Orientation, dugouts, bullpens, capacity and accessibility come from the team's own ballpark and disability access guides, cross-checked against independent ballpark guides. Every row of the section CSV carries its own confidence rating. Of 178 sections, 129 are high confidence, 46 medium and 3 low.
Known gaps
- Capacity figures conflict: about 34,820 from one source and 34,631 from another.
- The compass orientation could not be resolved — one shade source is self-contradictory and street geometry suggests the batter faces roughly north-east. Marked uncertain rather than stated.
- No 300-level section is confirmed behind home plate; the behind-the-plate product at that tier is a named club rather than a numbered section.
- One widely used stadium guide inverted both the dugout sides and the numbering direction for this park. This guide follows the sources that agree with each other and with the official netting and gate statements.
- Seats per row is not published for essentially any section.
