Nationals Park: an accessible guide to every section

In order to assist in finding tickets for Nationals games, the following is an overview of the stadium, sections, and details about the location of each section in the stadium.

A seat map answers one question at a glance: where would I actually be sitting? This page answers the same question in words — for all 129 sections at Nationals Park. What the section number means, where it sits relative to home plate, how deep it is, where the entrance is, and which end of the row seat 1 is on.

How the ballpark is laid out

Nationals Park opened in 2008 and seats 41,373. Four ticketed tiers: the Main Level 100s, the Mezzanine 200s, the Gallery 300s and the Upper Gallery 400s. The Upper Gallery is split in two behind home plate by the press box, so it runs 401–409 and 416–420 with no sections 410–415 at all.

Section numbers increase from left field, up the third-base side, past home plate, down the first-base side and out to right field. Low numbers are the third-base and left-field side; high numbers are the first-base and right-field side. This is the opposite of the other four parks in this division.

The sections directly behind home plate are:

How the tiers stack

The home-plate block sits at 119–126 on the Main Level, 212–215 on the Mezzanine and 310–316 in the Gallery. The Upper Gallery is the odd one out — the Shirley Povich Media Center splits it in two behind the plate and sections 410–415 simply do not exist, so that tier never reaches home plate and distances there are left blank rather than guessed. The split is a deliberate nod to Griffith Stadium.

Landmarks

How seat numbers work at this park

Every section page for this ballpark states the same rule: facing the field, seat 1 is on your right. Combined with the direction the section numbers run, that resolves to one rule for the whole park:

Seat 1 sits on the edge of the section facing the next HIGHER section number, and seat numbers count up toward the next LOWER section number.

Where seat 1 sits, by half of the ballpark
Where you areSeat 1 is… Higher seat numbers are…
The third base / left field half (sections numbered below the home-plate block)closest to home plate farther from home plate
Directly behind home plate on the first-base side of the sectiontoward the other side
The first base / right field half (sections numbered above the home-plate block)farthest from home plate closer to home plate

So a single rule of thumb will not cover the whole park. Each section entry below spells out which end of its row seat 1 is on.

Rows

Rows are letters on every level. The Main Level runs long alphabetic sequences that double up, A to Z and then AA to WW in the deepest sections, with A to U across the Diamond Club block 119–126. The Mezzanine runs A to P, the Right Field Terrace A to X, the Gallery A to J or A to L and the Upper Gallery A to N. The accessible convention here is a WC suffix on the section number rather than the row — section 114's accessible block is sold as 114WC.

Accessibility landmarks

Accessible seating is sold on every level, with a companion seat available next to each accessible seat. Locations are described section by section rather than by row label, generally at the top of a section next to the concourse.

A complete section-and-row inventory of accessible seating was not available in text form when this was compiled, so the list above is a set of landmarks rather than a complete map. The ticket office can confirm specific seats.

Sources, confidence and caveats

Rows, entrance rows, zones and seat-numbering direction come from RateYourSeats section pages, one page fetched per section, with A View From My Seat as a fallback. Orientation, dugouts, bullpens, capacity and accessibility come from the team's own ballpark and disability access guides, cross-checked against independent ballpark guides. Every row of the section CSV carries its own confidence rating. Of 129 sections, 106 are high confidence, 21 medium and 2 low.

About this page

Built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA: a skip link, one h1 with a properly nested heading outline, landmark regions, tables with captions and row and column headers, visible focus indicators, form controls with persistent visible labels, a live region announcing filter results, targets at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels, no information conveyed by colour alone, text that reflows at 320 pixels wide without horizontal scrolling, and support for the operating system's dark mode. No JavaScript is required to read any content — the filter is an enhancement, and the full section table is in the markup.
