Hyper-V Manage

Version 0.9.7 is a pre-release — run, build, checkpoint and take screenshots of Hyper-V virtual machines, screen reader first.

A Windows app that lists, starts, stops and connects to Hyper-V virtual machines, and builds new Windows VMs, or Ubuntu desktops with the Orca screen reader talking, that are ready to sign in to with Remote Desktop, with sound. Every VM shows its state, address and network in one list, Enter connects with Remote Desktop, and every action has a keyboard shortcut. Under it, each VM's checkpoints are a list of their own, where you can apply, rename or delete them, several at a time. Screenshot tells you what is on a VM's screen, listing what has focus and the open windows, and can read the picture's text with Windows OCR. Each action is announced as it starts and finishes, and a new VM's build progress is spoken line by line. It needs Windows 10 or 11 Pro, Enterprise or Education with Hyper-V turned on, and asks for administrator rights when it starts. Every download is signed. The installer adds a Start menu entry and keeps the app up to date on its own; the single program runs with nothing to install and tells you when there is a new version. If you have 0.9.2 or earlier, download the installer once and it keeps itself current from then on. Help, Report a Bug sends a problem report without needing a GitHub account. New VMs use the user name vmuser and password vmadmin unless you choose others, so pick your own password on a network you share.
